    Mobile server in standalone mode

    530949
      when i installed oracle lite database software, then i had many troubles.

      1) installing software - jdk 1.3 etc
      2) making database - needing to have system password
      3) configuring of mobile server - port 80 was busied by apache from oracle server, therefore i couldn't launch MS

      i troubleshooted all mistakes and run MS, but now i am listening that MS in standalone mode - it is bad for real projects, therefore it is necessary use oracleAS or apache, is it ?

          I hope I understand your question completely - you mean you'd like to run mobile server standalone (oc4j) as a service/daemon and change the server's port?

          you can use http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org with following configuration (just fix the paths to math your installation) - we're successfully using this in our production environment...

          the port for mobile server can be changed in following file: {oracle10gLit}\mobile_oc4j\j2ee\mobileserver\config\http-web-site.xml

              If you're still monitoring this, I have a question.
              First thanks for the wrapper config file

              But have you had any problems running mobileserver as a service? We notice that as a service, in mobile manager mobileserver>administration>sessions never shows any sessions, even though users are logged in. (We have online only and on/offline users). Also, the mobileserver seems to have problems managing the sessions and database connections. Not running it as a service, the user sessions do show up in mobile manager.
              We'd like to run it as a windows service so we can monitor and more easily remotely stop/start.

                Hello Paul,
                we're running this configuration on 2 production servers at the moment and don't report any simmilar problems so far... but we're using the mobile server just for offline clients (WM5 PDAs) to synchronize their data and applications (no online users) so your problems may not appear at our setup. On the other side, I can always see my administrator session in the sessions list in mobilserver administration section - do you have your session list really totally empty?

                  Hi,
                  first of all, sorry for resurecting old thread.

                  I've been used this wrapper for 10.2.0.2.0 and Java 1.5.0_11 on my production and development without any issues. But since migrate my development from 10.2.0.2.0 to 10.3.0.1.0 and Java 1.5.0_15, the wrapper is no longer working.

                  This is the error I got:
                  WrapperSimpleApp: Unable to locate the class com.evermind.server.OC4JServer: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.evermind.server.OC4JServer

                  Anyones got the same problem? Please share it here, I want to know how to fix it.

                  Thanks

                    G'day mate,
                    I got it sorted out.
                    The main thing is that with latest OC4J from 10.3.0.1.0 you need to change this line from:
                    wrapper.app.parameter.1=com.evermind.server.OC4JServer
                    to
                    wrapper.app.parameter.1=oracle.oc4j.loader.boot.BootStrap

                    and this is my complete conf, just for your references:
