I tried the above mentioned as well as following:

            • Factory reset and complete reinstall
            • Ran Cal again
            • Tried multiple printers

Nothing solved this issue, site where i am getting this error are running 3700 Res 5.4 MR4

I am using 5.5MR1 also faced the same issue. Try the method for BIOS enable the 422 mode and perform confidence test. Still get the same error code.

For workstation 620 & 650 you must copy ntidn.sys from 5.5 installation disk (System32\Drivers)  to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers and reboot workstation.

After reboot you will have no problem.

                  Solutions Tried and failed:

When I saw seeing this message on WS6 (Windows 8.1), I did following:

Restarted services: Print controller, DSM, DB Update

Recreated MDS Host / Printer files

                  Recreated Windows Host File

Rebooted micros workstations and micros PC

Formatted the terminal to factory settings, and re did the entire install.

After reading various blogs on this issue I realized it is not just me but people all over are experiencing this issue, also

this is not just happening with res 3700 but 9700, and symphony as well, also it is same on Windows 10 terminals.

Oracle recommended upgrading to Res version 5.5 but that did not fix the solution either.

I tried various solutions and talking points discussed on the internet.

                  Solutions Tried and worked:

I tried serial, USB and ethernet interface they work just fine so I determined that printing is only an issue with IDN

                  interface

At this time I realized that it is a windows update that is causing it:

When I mentioned this to oracle they suggested following:

“If the issue is linked to Windows updates then the solution would be to disable the Windows updates on the workstation and see if the

                  problem goes away. “

Which in my mind is not a resolution as disabling security updates does put the terminals at risk as well it gets the entire

environment exposed to potential threats, so this is not a great a workaround and not a resolution.

I did a factory reset to 1 of the terminal and started installing 1 update at a time and after install I did a restart and then

tested the printing till it broke.

This is the update that broke the IDN printing, also this is one of those updates that cannot be uninstalled unlike regular

                  security patches.

So if this one gets installed only way out is to do a factory reset.

                  So this is my recommendation:

While setting up the WS6 custom and not express setting and select “check for installs but let me choose whether to

                  download and install item”

Secondly when you see patch below mentioned patch on the list of updates:

Exar Corporation Ports driver update released in February 2016

Do hide the update so it does not get accidentally installed in future
