Whenever I "start a new discussion" on here, I see this good reminder:

Can someone walk me through the steps to do this? I must be missing something really obvious, but I haven't found a place on here where I can search existing discussions.

Click the search icon in the top right (the magnifying glass) and type what you want to search for, or just hit return in the search box for advanced searching.
When you get search results, by default it will search ALL the spaces on the community, but there's a link that will appear just under your search terms that you can click on to limit it to just results from the space you're in.
