            Thanks a lot Kee.

            On QUESTION: 28

What is the default threshold for message compression in OGG?

            1. A. 1000
            2. B. 100
            3. C. O
            4. D. By default, messages are not compressed.

I chosee A because i found that note:

            http://docs.oracle.com/goldengate/1212/gg-winux/GWURF/gg_parameters137.htm#GWURF635

By default, messages are not compressed? I did not found documentation about it.

I didn't believe too that I didn't pass. The score required is 69% i did 67%, only one question to PASS.

Again, thank you for helped me.

            Regards

              Hey Rodrigo,

The question is little tricky. As per the note, default threshold is 1000, but by default messages are not compressed. You need to use the COMPRESS option in the RMTHOST.

              Regards,

                K.Gan

Blame the documentation. So is it default or not! If you specify compress then the threshold is 1000. But I know it is uncompressed by default.

                COMPRESS

This option is valid for online or batch Extract processes and any Oracle GoldenGate initial-load method that uses trails. Compresses outgoing blocks of records to reduce bandwidth requirements. Oracle GoldenGate decompresses the data before writing it to the trail. COMPRESS typically results in compression ratios of at least 4:1 and sometimes better. However, compressing data can consume CPU resources.

                COMPRESSTHRESHOLD

This option is valid for online or batch Extract processes and any Oracle GoldenGate initial-load method that uses trails. Sets the minimum block size for which compression is to occur. Valid values are from 0 and through 28000. The default is 1,000 bytes.
