still waiting... Its very painful to go with Oracle and .net parallelly.
This sort of delay is exactly why our shop is transitioning to Microsoft and SQL Server...
10/1 , 10/2 , 10/3 , 10/4 , 10/5 .....
Counting , Counting , Counting .... and falling asleep
Still waiting without answer...
Should we jump to another RBMS with better support?
Any update on the Oracle ODT 2019 tools release? It's been months... I'm holding off upgrading to VS 2019 for the staff until this is complete...
Oracle + .Net isn't a weird one-off... this is a major release for a major company to support another major release. When the new iPhone comes out you can get a case... but when VS comes out with another planned release... nothing?
Please please get this release out asap. I've wasted countless hours looking for a workaround, just to simply connect to an Oracle database from Visual Studio 19. Looks like I will have to downgrade to VS 17 in the meantime, just to get some forward motion on my project. More time down the drain...
ignoring your customers isn't helping your company
"We'll provide an update on Oracle Dev Tools for VS 2019 at tomorrow's office hours. https://asktom.oracle.com/pls/apex/askto"
Which would be awesome except its at midnight my time and I missed it.
And guess which session isn't available yet as a recording.
We are going to have to wait until Nov 13th https://asktom.oracle.com/pls/apex/asktom.search?office=761#sessions
Also some other feedback to Oracle. I have to use Google to find my way back to this forum its pretty much impossible for me to navigate here via the oracle web site.
Hi everyone, thank you for your extreme patience and I'm sorry about the delays.
We were all set to release last week but ran into a "showstopper" issue and are fixing it now. We expect to release this beta very soon.
They say october...perhaps 2020
It's a joke. You have some issues and we need to wait even more because all of your 4 students can't fix that error?
I really don't understand why do they lie with the release date. Clearly they don't even care about this release or the developers whose lives are complicating with their laziness, if they were half decent, they would admit that they don't have the necessary time and resources to work on this, and release the code as open source, so that the community can work on it.
Currently we use VS 2015 with older ORACLE Data Tools. As we use Entity Framework in our all projects, I really want to know what will be the ETA for ORACLE Data Tools plugin for VS 2019 available?
