disabling dmz in ebs r12.2.5 instance

    Shaik

      Hi All,

      Current environmnet:

      Db:12c - 12.1.0.2 - non rac with ASM storage

      Apps: R12.2.5 - 4 application nodes and 2 DMZ

      OS: Linux6-64Bit

Now i have to delete secondary applciation node aswell 1 dmz node

I can see the steps to delete secondary applciation node in 12.2: How To Delete an Application Tier Node (Doc ID 2315133.1)

is the same steps for DMZ , please suggest.

      Regards

      Shaik

          Hi Shaik,

Yes. Its the same. But if it is the production, ensure that you revoke the ports, remove shared file system mounts.

Also you would have followed the DMZ Document: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Configuration in a DMZ (Doc ID 1375670.1)

So change the profile options again. For example:

Section 7: Oracle E-Business Suite Product Specific Configuration

             Hope this helps

          Thanks,

          Vishnu

Thank you Vishnu for the reply

4 application nodes are shared file system and 2 dmz not in shared fs.

Before starting the activity will perform complete backup of database and applciation file system.

While disabling the secondary application node if any issue and we have to restore the backup, in this case only applciation file system restore enough or we have to restore db also please suggest.

and same senario for DMZ , please suggest

            Regards

            Shaik

              EBSDBA

              Dear Shaik,

It depends on what stage its failed. If it has updated FND_NODES and other tables in database then its better to restore DB as well.

Otherwise you are good to restore only application.

              Thanks

                Hi Shaik,

Since its deletion of the node, there will be database changes as well.

Create a DB restore point. You can take a 0 Level or incremental as well. DB Restore Point is the easiest way. Application Backup is obviously a simple restore. However, if you have flash/snapshot backup (Based on your storage) for Application Tier, its faster.

                Thanks,

                Vishnu
