I added the following to my Host Names, and I no longer get the "Failed to get IP for linux (1)" errors.
127.0.0.2 linux.site linux
::1 localhost ipv6-localhost ipv6-loopback
I then clicked on "Continue" on the installer to force it past, and when I then tried to start opmn, I get a message indicating that "opmn is already running". Did my changes to my host names fix the problem, or is opmn running in a default state vs. the idea state?
either way, my guess would be to send it a stop and a start message, just to make sure it´s running right
Hi, I know this thread is quite old, but I had a similar problem today when installing Oracle AS infrastructure 10.1.2.0.2. same error message, log file also empty. when i ran opmnctl start, opmn started fine!
I thought that the reason it failed to start automatically was perhaps because I had used a staticports.ini file with ports less than 1024, but I ran opmnctl successfully manually as the oracle user and not root!
It's all in the hostfile.
Just check if you have a hostfile like:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
$IP server.your.domain server
Thanks for your help Jacco.
I had incorrectly assumed that the localhost entry had to be removed from the hosts file so that the correct default identity management realm would be picked up by the installer. I have now un-remmed the localhost entry and will report back if I still have problems.
i am getting error in installing OPMN manually
when trying to installing OPMN manually getting error i.e,
opmnctl: starting opmn and all managed processes...
opmnctl: opmn start failed
when checked opmn/logs:
opmn.log is empty
ons.log showing error ie:
13/06/17 19:22:45 ONS server initiated
13/06/17 19:22:45 10.209.178.16:6200 - thread create failed
ipm.log shoeing error i.e:
13/06/18 11:58:04 OPMN server ready. Request handling enabled.
13/06/18 11:58:16 PM state directory exists: /u02/app/orapp/product/10.1.2/opmn/logs/states
13/06/18 11:58:16 PM state file does not exist: /u02/app/orapp/product/10.1. 2/opmn/logs/states/.opmndat
any idea why it is showing error??
Hello,Check your ORACLE_HOME directory file permission and ownership
and also make sure Selinux and Firewall is disabled.
