Been trying to install 11i, and im getting fairly
desperate now! can somebody please explain how to get
Cygwin, the free options on the web have files that
are quite large and not so easy to download
Its straightforward, just have a look at the following thread:

Try the Download Without Install option in the setup screen, then run the setup.exe again and choose Install From Local Directory option.

Thank you for your valuable post.

I want the Clarification on Steps 4 & Steps 8 which one really appreciated

            Steps 4
I also Set Classpath = .; in the environment variable and also added the c:\jdk13\bin to the PATH variable.

Note : In the O/S winXP SP2's Environment Variable, there are TWO variables (1) User Variables & (2) System Variables, which one I choose for set the path

            My Computer > Properties > Advanced> Environment Variables>User Variables > PATH
            My Computer > Properties > Advanced> Environment Variables>System Variables > PATH

            Steps 8

During Step 4 of 5 , go to the jserv.properties file and change the "wrapper.bin" to whatever it is to wrapper.bin =c:\jdk13\jre\bin\java.exe

Where I will get jserv.properties files & what is wrapper.bin

            with best regards

If you have downloaded the files from (http://edelivery.oracle.com) then do the following:

                  1) Create a directory (Stage11i)
                  2) Put all the files you have downloaded under this directory
                  3) Unzip the files

If you have the files on DVDs, please refer to Note: 312728.1 (Staging Oracle Applications 11i )

                    Hi,

I need to install 1.5.10.2 on machine A and the stage will be on machine B - both windows. Is this possible? and any extra steps to be done?

                    thanks for your reply.

Just map the network drive from machine B to machine A as a new drive, make sure you can access this drive from "My Computer" on machine A.
