    Problem starting Infrastructure

    242192
      Hello,

after a shutdown and reboot i cannot start the infrastructure.
Server: redhat AS with OCS 9.0.4
When i start OHs or OC4J_DAS with dcmctl i get the
error: Time out cannot connect to opmn.

      Any ideas?

Is your repository database and listener up?
          Is Oracle Internet Directory up?

          $dcmctl getError

          Might be more helpful

              I shut down as advised.
The listener, database and OID are running.
I can connect to OID via OIDADMIN - no problem.
              The error i get:
              ADMN-604104
Unable to connect to opmn process to obtain process status table
              Base Exception:
oracle.ias.sysmgmt.exception.ProcessMgmtException:The OPMN Send operation did not complete within the specified timeout value
Check opmn process and opmn configuration

I did not change the opmn configuration ( i do not know
where and how to change it) nor any other configuration.

What does the above message mean?

There is a defualt timeout value for which is opmn recieves no response the following message is usually returned. However the command that has been issued, continues to run.
what happens if you do a dcmctl getstate -v -d

                  dcmctl getstate -v -d
                  raises the following error:

How much ram do you have on your system?
I;ve seen the time out errors before, which really are not errors, because as i mentioned before the command eventually does complete. It;s just that the timeout interval has been reached.
Now I can;t remember the associateed error number that went with the message.
Have a look at your opmn log files or dcm log files:

                    $OH/opmn/logs
                    $OH/dcm/logs

I have 4GB RAM. None of the infrastructure services works
                      except OID.
                      When i do:
                      http://hostname:7777/oiddas
I get the error /oiddas not found on this server.

                      What else can i do?

I found a solution for Infra:
Delete Repository and create new repository
After doing this Infra came up completely and everthing
                          worked.
Now i get the same problem on midtier.
Every component of midtier except OC4J_Portal starts and
                          worked.
                          I cannot start OC4J_Portal.
I tried with dcmctl and with opmnctl.
I tried a resync always the same error: timed out cannot
                          connect to opmn ....
The logfiles shows started but when i try to connect to
                          portal via http://hostname:7778/pls/portal
i get an Internal server error 500

                          What does this mean?

can you share info about how to delete and rebuild the repository?

                              Hi,

here at the customer, we occasionally have this problem and I wonder to what extend this relates to RAM or what exactly causes the repetitive occurance of this.

                              Thank you.

Should not be related to RAM. You should check error messages in opmn logs in the first place, and in datanase / listener / OID logs
