I downloaded and installed ILM 1.2 on a 11gR1 enterprise database(Solaris64).
I was able to install and access the APEX 3.0.1 application.
I am using the Enabled Gateway method.
I did enable the Network Services for 11g as required.
I set the port within APEX to 8080 using the exec command in the install APEX doc.
Even though the ILM assistant install was successful, I still cannot login with the ADMIN account and I get the error "Unauthorized".
For ILM the 7777 or 7778 port does not do anything but the 8080 port does bring the windows icon for login(ADMIN). ILM url:unresponsive

Should not the password for the ILM ADMIN be the same as the APEX ADMIN account(since I used that for the ILM assistant script)?
I was able to login to APEX with the ADMIN account.
Also my 11g database has the following options:
SQL*Plus: Release 188.8.131.52.0 - Production on Thu Feb 28 09:58:39 2008
Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 184.108.40.206.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, Oracle Label Security, OLAP, Data Mining,
Oracle Database Vault and Real Application Testing options
I finally got this to work in my 11g database with Database Vault.
I got to the ILM login page when I exchanged p=4550:10:2805095104274743
i.e. http://oraprod-dr.lodgian.com:8080/apex/f?p=737677:10:2805095104274743 The documentation for logging into ILM 1.2 seems to be not quite accurate.
What I saw on that page were 2 boxes:
1. Database User
So you actually need to login with a "database" user account.
Initially I logged in as "SYS" just to see what would happen.
Then I was able to see the ILM tabs and menus.
I then went into OEM and created a new database user "ILM_DB_ADMIN".
I followed the instructions for executing the grant_privs.sql script to that newly created database account.
I was then able to login with that database account.
Now the url http://oraprod-dr.lodgian.com:8080/apex/f?p=737677 immediately refers to the ILM login page.
I would not think that this is a "backdoor" login method into ILM since the documentation does mention that you must use a "database" account.
You are right, the document is not accurate, the same problem to me.
The tool also have some problem,it can't work though you can login.
I think you must have tested the software, the caculation of cost is wrong.
You are correct there is an error in the installation guide with regard to 11g. Now that PAEX is pre-installed the instructions should say
http://<host>:<port>/pls/apex/f?p=737677 instead of htmldb
host is a fully qualified address such as mynode.us.oracle.com
port is the port used for Application Express, usually 7777 or 7778 it should also say that if using PL/SQL Gateway then its what you specified such as 8080
The p=737677 is the application number and is the only way you can get the ILMA to start. The other number you refer to is the admin application.
With 1.2 of the ILMA you have to login using a DATABASE uername and password
Please can you advise which cost calculation is wrong?
About cost calculation :
I create a table to test the tool.
There are very few data, and no partition, and the index column is time_id(date),
sometime, the result is "I can save -100$",I think it's impossible.
