The alert log was enough to locate the destination on the unix server
Many variations on the above. I leave it as an exercise for the student to open the Backup and Recovery reference and study what the given command does, and what variants there are on it. Of course that command should be combined with a backup of the database itself.
rman> backup archivelog delete all input;
And we can tell if you need to do anything else.
