    Problem with Oracle Content DB

    user548266
      Hi,

I have an installed oracle 10.2.0.1.0 database, and my environment variables are set to (D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1), now i need to install the oracle content DB, but while installing the same, im prompted with error message indicating

'The ORACLE_HOME environment variable is currently set. This will prevent from use of multiple oracle Homes, and since it is not required for any oracle products to function,it must be unset in your environment. Please remove this environment variable, setting using control panel, then restart the installation'.

My question: Is it necessary that we have oracle 10g installed already as pre-requisite.

      Regards,
      - Sri

          Hi Sri!

Check out the installation guide, there You must find the answeres. (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32119_01/doc/nav/portal_booklist.htm)
Here You can find that the installed products do not support common home directories:
          http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32119_01/doc/contentdb.1012/b32187/msquik.htm#CFECIICD
You will need Oracle DB 10g already installed, because it is used to store the Content DB repository.
          Best regards,

          Tamas
