We are building an application using ADF, on the top of PeopleSoft Components Interfaces using Web Services. We would like the end-users to authenticate to this new system using their PeopleSoft accounts, and from there they can access PeopleSoft info (e.g. Worklist) as well as navigate to PeopleSoft screens.
Any ideas will be appreciated
If you are using PS usernames, then you will collect the username and password, right? If so, then send those along with your Web Service post in a WS Security. I believe this is the default approach when using CI based web services. If you are building your own web services rather than using the wizards, then use SwitchUser in your subscription PeopleCode to authenticate the user described in the web service call. Also, if your users already have a valid security token (PS_TOKEN) cookie, then you can pass that cookie along to your web service and use SwitchUser to authenticate the user.
