you can :
- install production machines with exactly the same OS setup
- copy the sofware, data, oraInventory, oraInst.loc etc, to exactly the same place (directories, etc) on the production server (make links if necessary)
- if the IP / domain names are not the same on the production, apply the change procedures :
Then test the production
Thanks Arnaud for your reply.
Acutally my past experience is on Microsoft plateform and I am new in Java and Oracle world therefore can you please provide more details about the steps you suggested me to move Oracle Collaboration to the production Server?
Or can you please refer me any document so that by reading that I can understand exactly what folders to move, where those software etc may be found and how to make certain configuration?
Well, then I'm afraid my help will only be very limited. I guess the short procedure I gave you CAN be done on windows, but we have such a small experience on OCS windows that I can't decently tell you that it's 100% sure and give you all the detailed steps, bacause apart from files and directories, there are registry issues on windows OSes. Not easy to copy an oracle setup like on Linux.
IMHO you should ask Oracle Support through a service request and tell them that you want to move the installation following the steps I gave you. Or maybe an Oracle guy can bring some more information on this thread, I know there are people who know, but then don't come here frequently, as they all switched to beehive !
