We've waited a long time with migrating to 10.x Ocal, because Oracle did not support WM 2005 and WM 2006. Since May/June 2008 Oracle now supports WM 2005 and WM 2006 with use of the Synthesis client.
Much effort was put into upschaling from a one box install to a 3 node install. So we're almost ready to migrate to 10.x. But the biggest chalenge is still updating all our PDA's with the Synthesis 3.x client. This because initially we used the Oracle desktop conduit for WM 2003 and PALM. When WM 2005 was introduced we were adviced to migrate to 9.04.2.x and to use SyncML. So we have a mix of clients that are being used for synchronizing the approx 600 PDA's.
In fact we use only the Oracle calendar part of the Colab. Suite. (but with OID, SSO etc). If we now decide to go on with beehive, again we have plan the whole install and test the migration from ocal 220.127.116.11.13 to behive... 11.xxx?
I think if you want to follow up with the evolutions of mobile technology (oracle client for WM6 and beyond, blackberry support, etc.). Beehive is the choice to do, with OCS10 you'll be stuck on what you have today.
Of course it's a bigger step up, but better do one big instead of one small + one big ! In addition the licence cost is zero !
