I have not Document Conversion Server. But i don't understand you completely.
Do you mean OCS Server under "NT Machine"?
I have OCS installed on Linux RH AS4. Or i should install this donversion server on workstations?
Please explain me more detaily.
I mean that you need to install Document Conversion Server to upload Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as materials in Web Conference.
Your OCS installed on Linux is OK.
But, Document Conversion Server must be NT machine because you have to install MS Office on it to handle Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.
Our organization has implemented the Oracle Collaboration Suite at its Portal. I can preload documents to my webconferencing area. However, the only documents that can be viewed by sharing the preloaded documents during a web conference are JPG files. I thought the problem was that the Portal administrator has not installed viewers necessary to view the files. Would the Document Conversion Server fix this problem? Would the Document Conversion Servers sit on the Portal's server or on my, the end user's machine?
What if one doesn't want to use the document conversion server and still have the ability to upload these type of documents for distribution as pre-conference material etc? Seems odd that it would be a requirement for uploading or at least optional..
