I am also interested with that problem but I have no idea about the existence of technical specs.
Thunderbird does not include calendaring yet. Do you mean Sunbird / Lightning ?
Oracle Calendar does support ical for export / import purposes, that means I'm not sure you can "configure Calendar" to sync with those clients. Not easily for sure.
Celendar does not support Caldav. The future OCS will do.
I am also eagerly awaiting the CalDav or iCal server info on this. What a potential relief from Outlook!
I was trying the same thing but no success. I installed a calendar in Thunderbird (as add-on) but I cannot synchronize it with the Oracle Calendar. If you found a solution for that please share it . Many thanks.
As fate would have it, I attended a GDS "PC Performance" brown bag the other day here in Rocklin, and they did mention that Oracle is working with the Lightning plugin to have a catered configuration for Oracle Calendar.
So... we can't do it yet, but it's coming soon. This was really good to hear.
Any word on when this will be available?
We can't use syncml2ical.com for security reasons. Can Oracle help us configure something similar?
Does Oracle really intend to come up with something for Oracle Calendar (standalone in my case)? Or is it Beehive?
Beehive is so far different from Oracle Calendar that it's difficult for large organizations to switch.
in your Case ORACLE Beehive is the answer. There is no ongoing development for OCS or Calendar Standalone. If you like to use iCal over Caldav and also Thunderbird you have to switch to Beehive.
Since not so long ago, you can use a second plug-in named Funambol.
This can sync to OCS using the SyncML protocol.
Together with Lightning, you can integrate your calender in Thunderbird
I'm looking to implement this using your suggested method of Funambol and Lightning for Thunderbird. Do I need specific connection information for the sync protocol with OCS?
I have installed both Lightning and Funambol in my Thunderbird. Can you please tell me how to configure my Calendar using these two. What will be the server location for OCS Calendar.
Hi this is something I found on Oracle's website. But the version is old.. and doesnt work with my latest Thunderbird.
