Inconsistant translation of #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# by server

Hi,
I am using Application Express 3.1.1.00.09 with a "10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Prod" on a windows server.

I created a HTML region and put three images linked to screen shots stored in the database. When I run the page I only see the first two images and a broken link. Further examination reveals the third link to me missing some characters. Can anyone explain this?

Here's the text I put into the Region Source textarea:
<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#ManagedAnalysysMenu.JPG"/>
<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#ManagedOutput.JPG"/>
<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#BySummary.JPG"/>
The images are already in the database of course and displays correctly when I click on them individually.

When I run the page and look at the link locations being generated I see this:
http://portscrpt2a.ced.corp.cummins.com:7777/pls/apex/wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=5388805722223014&p_fname=ManagedAnalysysMenu.JPG

The third image which did not display had a chunk of characters missing from it's URL. I tried this multiple times and found that the missing characters are pretty random. Usually just 1 or 2 characters but sometimes more.
I also noticed that text and html I put in are sometime missing or changed.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

I've looked for hidden characters in my input string and see nothing but carriage returns.

Thanks,

Wayne

    Since item three has the following for code:

    <img src="#WORKPACE_IMAGES#BySummary.JPG"/>

    as apposed to *<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#BySummary.JPG"/>* (Notice the missing S in workspace??) This maybe your problem....

    Thank you,

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks for the reply. The missing "S" in the link is part of the behavior I am observing. After two to three edits within the "Edit Region" page I would often be missing a character from here or there. Also if notice the links (which I clarified by putting it in code region), the url contained the full word #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# which the server should have translated. The three link are cut&pasted from the same page.

    I also noticed that the <img> link generated by the html editor I was using (MS Word 2003), did not contain a closing "/". So the links were
    <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#BySummary.JPG">
    instead of
    <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#BySummary.JPG" />
    Updating all my links to include the "/" seemed to have fixed the problem with only the 3 images but I still have broken pages with text and images mixed in. Do you think that slash could have caused all the funky behavior?

    Thanks a lot for your help,

    Wayne

    You were using Word 2003 as a HTML Editor? I can not offer anything other that confusion as to why you'd use Word to do Web documents. There are quite a few FREE html editors available.

    Heck you can hand edit html using notepad easier than ding it in Word..

    So, yes, I would advise using a proper editor for HTML documents to resolve some of the issue..

    Yes but why would bad html code causes server to behave this way? I am seeing the actual stored text data stored becoming corrupted.
    I've even tried taking out all the text leaving only the img tags and still saw problems.

    Is there a free html editor that you would recommend for basic html editing?

    Thanks,

    Check the DAD character set is AL32UTF8 and version of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit >= 10.1.2.0.6.

    The DAD may be at the location indicated in the documentation link below, or it may be somewhere else depending on the local configuration. The PL/SQL Web Toolkit can be checked using the query select owa_util.get_version from dual in the SQL Workshop.

    Check the third line:

    You have a mistake -> "WORKSPCE".
