It says "Invalid Login Credentials" when I try to use the credentials you provided.

            Marco,

I never had time to deal with that issue. Unfortunatelly.

The below Login details are working

                WORKSPACE NAME: aaa
                USER:USER1

                  O.K.

Turns out to be a report printing problem - you need to enable it in order to get it working. You may hide (delete) the print link.

                    Hi Denes,

I think your ideea is fabulous but it seems to not work for me. I took a look and i done the step-by-step instruction.

When i ran the page, the link is correct but it is giving me the "no data found" error message. Also i noticed that the "my file name" doesnt appear when i try to save it , just ".xls[1]".

Any ideea as to why ?

                    Kind regards,
                    Alex

In the course of trying out Denes technique for exporting directly to excel I too received error similar to:

                      Report Values Error: ORA-06550: line 1, column 163: PL/SQL: ORA-00936: missing expression ORA-06550: line 1, column 155: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored / -6550 / select from (SELECT order_id, order_date, order_mode, customer_id, order_status, order_total, sales_rep_id, promotion_id FROM oehr_orders)

In my case this was was due to value for column "include_in_export" of table apex_application_page_rpt_cols being set to null even though value indicated by "Include In Export" dropdown list of "column definition" accessible from "report attributes" tab was set to 'Yes'. When I commented out line,

                      AND include_in_export = 'Yes'

                      of looping construct,

FOR c IN (SELECT column_alias, NVL (heading, column_alias) heading,
                      format_mask
                      FROM apex_application_page_rpt_cols
                      WHERE page_id = p_page_id
                      AND application_id = p_app_id
                      AND region_id = TO_NUMBER (LTRIM (p_region, 'R'))
                      AND include_in_export = 'Yes'
                      -- and column_is_hidden = 'No'
                      ORDER BY display_sequence)

of package export_excel_pkg then it worked fine. I don't know if this is a bug with APEX version I'm using (3.1.2.00.02) and I did notice that toggling value in drop-down on column definition then applying changes did update value in table apex_application_page_rpt_cols appropriately. At any rate, one simple work around may be to change condition within looping construct of package from

                      AND include_in_export = 'Yes'

                      to

                      AND nvl(include_in_export,'Yes') = 'Yes'

Thanks to Denes for supplying this technique which helped me gain several little gems of insight including use of page 0, application level processes, use of APEX metadata etc... Excellent!

Thanks for sharing this solution, I had the same issue and the NVL(...) solution is now working for me.
My last concern is that the intitial report contains some french accents and it doesn't show correctly in the exported file.

                        Any idea why?

                        Thanks

If report has columns with sort option and when I was sorted report by any column, then I am expecting that the Excel report will be sorting the same.
For sorting APEX is using javascript function $a_report with PPR in Ajax. I am creating item in region of report like PNNN_SORTING and set it equal psort
(parameter in $a_report). But I can use function v('PNNN_SORTING') in the package export_excel_pkg* only after I submit this page, for a example, when I press button"Go" for search. Denes, have you any ideas how to implement this sorting in the Excel reports?
