I wrote that because at the time I did that installation SP2 was not released yet. So, you can proceed with SP1 or SP2 with no issues.
Please note that this is not the correct forum to post your question, and for similar queries/questions please post your question in [Technology - LCM: R12 Install/Upgrade|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=395] forum.
All Oracle Apps R12 installation guides can be found at (Note: 405565.1 - Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 Installation Guidelines).

In addition to the [Oracle Applications Installation Guide: Using Rapid Install|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B53825_03/current/acrobat/121oaig.pdf] manual, you will have to follow the steps in (Note: 761567.1 - Oracle Applications Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Microsoft Windows Server (32-bit)) as the installation manual does not cover all Windows OS pre-req. software/packages.
One more question.....
As I m using windows 2003 SP2 and Visual C++ 8.0 is only compatible with windows2003 sp1.
What i need to do to resolve this issue?
Visual C++ 8.0 is compatible with Windows 2003 SP1 (_or higher_).
For Visual C++ 8.0, you are required to download and install SP1 of the software itself and SP1 GDIPLUS.DLL security update (as mentioned in the installation document). You can download Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and the security update from these links.
Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 Team Suite Service Pack 1
SP1 GDIPLUS.DLL security update
Thanks a lot.....
