I was looking for a feature of Mass Creation of work orders in the JDE enterprise one; currently we deal with 90+ work orders, and all are enterd manually. Any suggestions/ insight would be highly appreciated
Most likely not the most elegant of methods, but during an implementation a while back I had to migrate WO's. I came up with an Excel template that mimics the F4801 table, and used formulas, vlookups etc to populate it. Then it was just a copy/paste from excel into the actual table. For me it was a 1-time shot. Since you have to do it on a regular basis, you may need something more robust with built-in edit checks. But for quick and dirty uploads, the above method works fine.
You didn't specify your JDE release level or the database server you're running on. Also, what's your role on the project? Are you an end-user, developer, functional B/A....etc? It will dictate how technical my answer will be :)
For now, you can ask your DBA to provide a schema of the F4801 table. Or do it yourself via databrowser or UTB.
I forgot to mention, that you can probably exploit the interoperability functions of EnterpriseOne to auto-populate the WO's. Take a look at the F4801Z1 z-table and its associated application. It supports both inbound and outbound transactions.
