    Ask Reconfigure Database Planning Application?

    779594
      Hi-

My Hyperion Planning use sqlserver for the Database System when I installed it.
Is anybody know how I reconfigure it to change the Database Planning System from sqlserver to OracleDB?

      Thanks,
      Cheers

          Hi,

You should be able to run the configuration utility and enter new Oracle connection information for the planning system database, this will create the tables.
You can then extract the information from your SQL planning system tables and insert it into the Oracle tables, you will have to do it in the correct order as there are some constraints on the tables.
Once you have done that and restart planning it should pick up all the new information.

          Cheers

            Thanks John,

So, I change the configuration to Oracle it will make a new database for Planning system database? Do I have to make a new user at Oracle DB first before to configure it?
About SQL Planning system tables, aren't they created automatically when I configured at the first time when I did the installation?
I just do the installation for my machine so I don't think I have things to move into Oracle DB.

            Cheers

Create a new user in Oracle say called "Plansys"
Run the configurator, choose planning > configure database, chose Perform 1st-time configuration of database.
Enter connection details to oracle using Plansys account.
After it has completed check it created the tables in the Plansys schema.
Next transfers the data from the sql server tables to the oracle tables.
              Restart Planning

              Cheers

                Hi-

I did reconfigure the database based on your guide. But, the status is failed.
Should I start the services when I reconfigure or stop the services?

                Thanks
                Cheers

Here is one of the error

                  DBConfigurator, ERROR, CREATE TABLE HSPSYS_ACTION (ID INTEGER NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT PK_HSPSYS_ACTION PRIMARY KEY(ID) , FROM_ID INTEGER, TO_ID INTEGER, ACTION_ID INTEGER, OBJECT_TYPE INTEGER, PRIMARY_KEY VARCHAR2(255), ACTION_TIME TIMESTAMP)
java.sql.SQLException: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'USERS'

                  Thanks,

Ok, I will give an example of what the oracle error means and you will have to go away and research and fix it.

+"Most likely, the user has no quota granted on the tablespace in which he wants to create a table or index."+

                      Hi Thr,

The new user which you have created should have at least following previllages:
                      1) Role: Connect and Resource
                      2) System Previlage: Create Session and Create View

You CAN create a seprate taable space and temp table space for Hyperion users.
in Quotas tab assign quotas to the newly created user.
                      or you can use :
                      ALTER USER HYPUSER QUOTA UNLIMITED ON HYPERION;

where HYPUSER Is the user name and HYPERION is the table space.

                      Cheers...!!!

I've done with the database configuration but now I can't see my application on workspace ...
Before I update it, when I go to

Navigate -> Application ... It shows my new application, now it disappear...

But, when I go to direct to Planning desktop, my application is there but still hasn't be able to log in yet :(

                          Cheers
