I would actually suggest that you review your HFM Event Viewer. You will notice that HFM tries to reach out to the files created and loads them ... but encounters an error. You will need to figure out what Account you have HFMServer.exe running as, and ensure it has read/write/modify permissions to the path listed.
Do you mean the HsxService.exe that is run by the service Hyperion Financial Management - Management Service?
I have configured this service to use the domain user that has full read/write access to the FDM application directory. I checked this by creating a test file there.
I cannot find the file with extension .ua2
I searched in the documentation and found that these are archive files. Have I accidentally turned on any setting for archive etc?
Some more data.
The error I mentioned appeared in the log file placed in the Outbox\Logs directory.
The HFM log (on the other server) pointed out that the file Sample05-C.log was not accessible wherein Sample05.dat is the data file created by HFM.
Studying, the HFM log file, I found that the data was also loaded, but the option for drillback was not appearing in HFM data grid.
Please resolve all access errors mentioned in the HFM Event Viewer.
There is no access error!
What I meant by "not accessible" is that the file has not been created by FDM.
The user can read/write and even delete from the FDM App directory.
FDM does not write the file. ... the -C.log file is written by HFM.
Per your statement: "...The HFM log (on the other server) pointed out that the file Sample05-C.log was not accessible"
This needs to be resolved. If HFM does not create the -C.log, FDM can not rename it to .UA2

My sincere apologies in case my posts appear to be rude. :)
Please understand that I am a novice in this technology and after exhausting Google for the last 3 hours, I am sitting and refreshing the thread every minute for any reply.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge in the -C log file and the ua2 file.
I am not sure what configuration I need to to do to solve the problem. The HFM error log says "Cannot open file". On the other hand, I have tried to logon as the specific user and can create files in the FDM app directory. Any pointers on this? (DCOM apps for HFM are also configured with this user.)
Could yoy be more specific which DCOM settings did you change to make it work?
Please keep in mind that the Discussion Forum is not intended to be a support portal, it is for other users to share knowledge they have. If you are sitting and refreshing the forumn constantly waiting for an answer to a question, I would suggest opening a Service Request on the support portal for an Oracle Analyst to view the issue.
Well said and as user 743339 once noted, the knowledge sharing that happens on these forums is completely voluntary. Please respect this.
I’m sorry for reviving a discussion that ended up not so gently but I am facing precisely the same problem…
The only difference is that my two servers are running Windows 2008 R2 64 bits and the version of HFM is 220.127.116.11.0.83 and of FDM is 18.104.22.168.00.
Did anyone figured out what was the problem? Which DCOM settings should I revise?
Thank you very much in advance,
Good day all. I also have this issue on 22.214.171.124 All worked fine and after fixing a mapping error I am now getting this same problem. I see there is a DCOM change here, but it does not say what the change is and I have looked at the difference between my two environments where this works on the one and not on the other and the settings all look the same?
What am I missing if this is in deed a DCOM problem. Security is also setup the same on both environments. The *.ua1 file gets created but not the *.ua2 file.
Any help here please. All the errors are the same as in this post.
