what is the difference b/w synchronised hashmap and hashtable?
Jun 12, 2010 1:05 PM
I was just thinking when to use Collections.synchronisedMap(hashMap) and when to use Hashtable.
In what scenario do we use them.
Can anyone help me in this..

Hashtable is an old class that probably shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary.
For example sometimes a method expects a Hashtable parameter instead of Map, so you'll need to use it. Otherwise no reason.
