This is my first post on the Java forums. I have limited java experience but worked with java at my previous job and a bit in college. My predecessor at my current job created a Server/Client application for internal use, he created it with .Net and Windows Communication Foundation. Now he has left and my office is slowly leaning toward more Linux use, which makes some of these .Net applications useless. So they were hoping we could rewrite the client application in java to work with the .Net server and WCF. Is this possible? Will this be a difficult project?
There is the option of rewriting the server as well, but if I can can get away with using the original server that would be best.
Any info is welcome, and keep in mind, I have minimal experience with Java, but can put in the time to learn.
I have found an article at http://www.kevingao.net/wcf-java-interop which touches on the subject. I would still appreciate some more resources and info. Any relevant books or all around java reference books would be a great help.
