    Running in windows?

Hello, I am a novice programmer in highschool, i am developing a program for a teacher to help alleviate some work for them. The program has gui windows using swing(if that's important), and all i want to now is how i can create an .exe or something like it so that someone can easily execute this program on windows. I have spent hours searching for a way on other sites but i have found no straight forward answer. I need is some way of running this program easily and repeatedly from a simple icon on the desktop, how is this achieved without having to go into command prompt or through an html (which i could find no information on how to nest an applet in)? I do know that this is possible as pc squared is run this way for uil contests.
