Registering an ActiveX Bean control...
Mar 10, 2009 10:42 AM
I've done a little searching around for people in similar situations, but all I could find were a number of people with similar problems, alas without solutions.
Here we go:
I've followed the steps outlined here (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/beans/axbridge/developerguide/index.html) to build a Bean and wrap it up into an ActiveX DLL.
I have managed to build the DLL, but when it gets to the end of the compilation process (or by using regsvr32), it comes up with:
The packages JavaBean is not located under the directory <jre_home>\axbridge\bin"
My environment is configured thus:
The DLL is inserted in:
and is located alongside the original jar.
Also, to add to the mix, this is being performed on a Vista machine, and I have tried running this as an administrator.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to insert the DLL in C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_11\axbridge\bin
instead of C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11\axbridge\bin
Alternatively you can insert the DLL in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11\jre\axbridge\bin
