As a newbie I am not sure if this has been covered lately - Please forgive me if it has
Myself and some of my friends have had problems lately updating to the latest versions - Should the previous versions be deleted in any way ,
or do the latest versions easily "over install" without any problems -
I deleted my earlier versions and was able to install the latest (I think) version, but I previously had problems when an update was available -
Thank you for the chance to ask this question -
If your computer's configuration files are damaged, thre might be problems when updating Java JRE installations from java.com. In that case, uninstall the existing version then go tto this page: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp and install the new version. Note that this will install an additional version, not replace an existing one. Choose an offline install, and either the JRE or the JDK. If you're only runing prewritten programs the JRE will do.
