Capture information on suspicious events
Sep 29, 2010 3:54 PM
I am new to Solaris and looking for a way - let say a script that will search a cron log file and sent me an alert by email.
How do I start?
cat tail -500 /var/cron/log >> /local/user/oracle/autidfile.txt
I am looking for words like (error, failed, 'exec failed', alert etc)

Nowadays most of the early utilities have been supplanted by SIEM appliances. Swatch would probably still work though.
