I would like to notify this forum that a free evaluation release of
Java Real-Time System (Java RTS) 2.0-GA is now available
for downloading at our public web site. The URL for the web
page where to start in order to be able to get to the download
The download link will be presented to you after you fill out a
quick survey and agree to a click-through e-license; in addition,
you need to be a member of the Sun Developer Network (SDN)
and also login as such (you'll need to register first if you aren't
a member already).
A download link for either Java RTS 2.0 on Solaris10/SPARC or
Java RTS 2.0 on Solaris10/x86 will be presented, depending on
your choice. Another choice that needs to be made, in either case,
is between two types of licenses (click-throughs); further details are
provided on the web page at the abovementioned URL. (B.t.w., a
Java RTS release on Linux/x86 is being planned; further details on
the roadmap for this should become available in due course.)
The latest version of the Java RTS 2.0 technical documentation
bundle included with the product is being separately maintained
I'm trying to install RTS 2.0 on my laptop of x86. There is the following message:
SUNWrtjc only supports Solaris 10 11/06 and cannot be installed on
Solaris 10 8/07 s10x_u4wos_12b X86

No changes were made to the system.
I think i'm using Solaris 10 8/07, which I recently downloaded. But I couldn't find where to download Solaris 10 11/06. I would be really appreciated for any suggestions...
I have the same problem. Every time I am trying to download Solaris 10 11/06, I am redirected to Solaris 10 8/07. :-((
To cope with it, I have installed vmware and I use the Vmware image of Solaris 10 11/06. You can find it here: http://developers.sun.com/solaris/downloads/solaris_apps/index.jsp
But this solution doesn't work perfectly.
Please let me know if you will find some another solution.
I would go ahead and download the s10 8/07 bits and install them.. As David mentioned we should
have the cyclic driver for S10 8/07 ready shortly.. I would not recommend running in a vmware
session.. I think to get best determinism as possible you would want to run on host os instead..
I'll probably try to run it on the VMWare, because I'm catching a class deadline and try to understand RTS and the samples asap. I'm also going to use RTS for my research, so it's for sure that I would move to the real OS when the cycle driver is ready.
I have been just checking the version of RTS 2.0 available at SUN's web page and, surprisingly, it looks like they have updated it.
Right now the RTS 2.0 should work also for Solaris 10 update 4. Just dont get confused by the installation guide at the webpage, its outdated. When you download it, the readme file proudly declares support for Solaris 10 u4.
With no offense to developers of RTS, I would expect that they will post a message about this update, since it was discussed here so much....
