Today after rebuilding a new nvidia driver for my openSUSE 11.2 install I rebooted and the system hung before grub started. Only a blinking white cursor on a black background. The system is fairly new and has been working with no prior issues.
I tried to boot to cd and usb (pressing F8 during POST) with the same results.
The port 80 LED shows 62 (or perhaps it is b2?) when the system hangs, which is listed as reserved (or isn't listed at all).
I tried booting from the Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Tools and Drivers DVD and also have tried to recover the BIOS. Ctrl+Home with usb, this just displays E9 on the LED display (with all fans on and no display).
I'm starting to run out of ideas and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
I am having the same issue. Did you fix it from booting off the DVD or the USB? I am not getting any display to the monitor after the light on the USB drive starts blinking so I can't follow the on screen instructions.
