    T1000 & S10 0106

    807559
I'm having all sorts of fun getting a new T1000 to jumpstart using S10 0106. I have SUN4U systems working swell jumpstarting and flash loading S10 0106.

      But

message overflow on /dev/log minor #5 -- is syslogd(1M) running?

and it hangs for as long as I have waited.

Normally at this point it says configuring devices and rolls on...

I really don't understand yet what the differences are between a SUN4U and SUN4V install. In /tftpboot the inetboot file is different but looking at the staged disks after a setup_install_server where are all the SUN4V files? I have a single jumpstart server with flavors from Solaris 8 on up installed and working.

Any clue what might be wrong and how I can debug this further?

boot -v normally shows the problem but not this time.

          Well I figured it out...

The -s parameter for ad_install_client needed another level of directory tacked on as this is where the .cdtoc is located.

Once this crapped out into a # prompt a "mount -p" showed that the /cdrom mount was not mounted correctly.

We have subdirectories for each release of Solaris.

Do you know how to add the sun4v arch into the tftpboot dir. We have just got a t1000 and I cannot add it to the jumpstart because sun4v isn't supported.

Unless you're setting up on a boot-only server, you shouldn't use the -s option. 'add_install_client' doesn't need it when it's run on the jumpstart server.
