    Sun MC Client API

    807567
      Hi All,

I am new to Sun MC. I am looking for Sun MC Client API and sample programs. For my research it seems that it is paid but is there ant triel version which I can use to explore things. At least sample programs and documenation
Also apart from Sun MC is there any way to deploy zones/containers on Solaris box remotely?

      Thanks in advance,

          Documentation can be found here:

...and sample code comes as part of the SUNWessdk package (which is packed in with your SunMC download). It's not the easiest API to work with: if you're having troubles Halcyon offers services that can help. Or if you're looking into how to integrate SunMC with other tools that's something you can get off-the-shelf with EventAction:

If you're looking for a GUI, then no, SunMC (specifically its "Solaris Container Manager" addon) is the only graphical Sun tool that does that type of thing. The only other tool that may come close would be to roll-your-own with Suns N1 Service Provisioning System... but that would be a lot of work and it still wouldn't give you all the features SunMC does.
