    Lost entitlement on old machine

    807567
      I have a machine that I have not updated in a few years but today tried to update it. The initial smpatch updated smpatch and SUC. Other patches failed to install due to missing pre-requisite patches and for those patches I'm told I don't have the entitlement.

      Looking at the entitlement files, I have:

      cache/entitlement/https%3A%2F%2Fgetupdates1.sun.com%2Fsolaris%2F%2Fentitlement_client
      ::::::::::::::
      Solaris10
      Solaris10Security
      SolarisSecurityUpdates
      SolarisDataIntegrityUpdates
      SolarisHardwareUpdates
      SolarisUtilityUpdates
      Public

      which is my "old" entitlement file. Then I have a new:

      cache/entitlement/https%3A%2F%2Fgetupdates1.sun.com%2F%2Fentitlement_client
      ::::::::::::::
      ----START-ENTITLEMENT-TOKENS----
      Public
      ContractRequired
      Public
      -----END-ENTITLEMENT-TOKENS-----

      which doesn't give me anything.

      Do I need to re-register or something - and can this be done via command-line (I can't boot system into state where GUI is working).

      FYI I'm an internal user so you can email me at David dot Holmes at Oracle dot Com
