Can't patch Solaris 10 machine with updatemanager (thinks it it not on netw

I am having trouble patching a Sunfire V245 that is under contract (that I patch our other machines under).
I start the update manager, it loads the system information, asks for username and password, but
then, rather than checking that - it returns with "internet connection failure". "configure network/proxy settings"
I'm accessing the machine via the network, so I know its network connection is live.

      Suggestions?

          Hi,

Please send the output from the following commands:

          # telnet cns-services.sun.com 443
          # telnet getupdates1.sun.com 443
          # telnet a248.e.akamai.net 443
          # telnet www.sun.com 80

Or if you use a HTTP proxy:

          # telnet <proxy> <proxy-port>
Then issue one of the commands below:

          CONNECT cns-services.sun.com:443 HTTP/1.0
          CONNECT getupdates1.sun.com:443 HTTP/1.0
          CONNECT a248.e.akamai.net:443 HTTP/1.0
          CONNECT www.sun.com:80 HTTP/1.0

          Thanks
