      Hi all,

I'm trying to install the patch 119757-15 to upgrade Samba version to 3.0.34

If I use the upgrade tool to uprade automatically, when "init 6", it will nitify "upgrade failed".

Then I try to upgrade mannually.

When run the command "patchadd ./119757-15" there always the errors as following:

      cp: cannot access /tmp/patchadd-13587360/response.7360
      /usr/lib/patch/patchadd[129]: /tmp/patchadd-13587360/pkgaddlog.7360: cannot create

I have tried several ways. But it still NOT working.

      Please help me!

      Thanks very much!

Then I try to install the patch in single user model, "init 1".

It seams that the patch installed successfully.

But the files are NOT replaced by the new ones.

          What's the problem?

          Thanks!

            Please post the /var/sadm/patch/119757-15/log

Also you do not appear to have run the command right, it should be either:

            patchadd 119757-15 or patchadd /var/spool/patch/119757-15

              Hi,

              Please see following.

              -bash-3.00# cat 119757-15/log

              Re-installing Patch.

This appears to be an attempt to install the same architecture and
version of a package which is already installed. This installation
will attempt to overwrite this package.

              Dryrun complete.
No changes were made to the system.

              Installation of <SUNWsmbar> was successful.

              -bash-3.00# pkginfo | grep smb
system SUNWsmbac samba - A Windows SMB/CIFS fileserver for UNIX (client)

system SUNWsmbau samba - A Windows SMB/CIFS fileserver for UNIX (Usr)

I don't know why SUNWsmbau is "NOT" installed.

And why NOT patch for SUNWsmbac is installed.

              Please help check. Thanks!

                ## Executing checkinstall script.
PaTcH_MsG 8 **Version 11.10.0,REV=2005.01.08.05.16** of SUNWsmbau is not installed on this system.
                checkinstall script suspends

Installation of <SUNWsmbau.2> was suspended (administration).
No changes were made to the system.

It seams that the Version could NOT be matched.

So the patch for SUNWsmbau could NOT be installed.

                But how to correct it?
