Sun ONE App Server 6.1 newbie - please advise

I'm planning develop a Java war based application that will be deployed on Sun One App Server 6.1. The last time I used Sun One App Server, it was a Netscape product. In other words, it's been a long time. Also, it doesn't appear I can even download 6.1 anymore. The last few years I've been deploying just fine to Weblogic, Tomcat, Websphere (most of the time).

Will I able to deploy any war to Sun One App Server 6.1 running Java 1.4?

Any thoughts or insights into this is appreciated. Any gotchas or tricks to be aware of?

Heck, anyone know where I can find the documentation on how to deploy a war?

I understand the production environment will not upgrade to anything newer. So, I'm a bit concerned about what my options are for code.

I really appreciate your thoughts and experiences when deploying code to this app server.

      Thanks in advance,

There is no such thing as Sun App Server version 6.1. There is a version 6.5 which is EOLed soon to be EOSLed, so I wouldn't recommend using it nowdays. By the way, JDK 1.4 and J2EE 1.4 are not supported by 6.5 - it goes only as far as jdk 1.3.1 and J2EE 1.2.

If you really need a modern, enterprise ready, stable and FREE product download and use Sun App Server 9.1 which was released a week ago: https://sdlc1e.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=BCA8BF6E7E7124D0A267DEE26A2D7B18

All the docs can be found at: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/coll/1343.4

          Hope this helps.
