this is NORMAL status for ASM instance. there is a special flag the agent passes to the listener to allow it to connect to an ASM instance. If you are curious, the flag is (UR=A) to the tns entry.
I need to use Perl's DBI/DBD to connect to the ASM instance, which is in BLOCKED state.
Can you provide more detailed example on where/how to setup the "UR=A" flag ?
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hostname)(PORT = 1521))
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = +ASM)
Even Putting UR=A doesn't help. (with 10203)
What is the root cause of this error? Please guide how to fix it.
I assume the ASM entry that you are showing refers to what should be in db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora?
My tnsnames.ora does not have an ASM entry at all, and I am experiencing the same issue as the original poster. Should I add one and restart ?
