I have created a webservice client that access the url "https://paypal.com" .It is working fine in my local server in windows platform, so i moved to testing server that runs on unix. In testing server when it executes the line "new URL("https://paypal.com")" it throws the exception "*unknown protocol:https*".
My local machine as well as the server is having the same jdk&jre 1.4.2. How can i make it work.
You'll need to check that. Get the actual version.
I am giving below the out put from server , i took it using the code System.getproperty(String val) and written to log.
DEBUG 2008-06-17 04:36:27,948 (Logger.java:25) - vm ver:1.4.2 22.214.171.124-061213-03:46-PA_RISC2.0 PA2.0
DEBUG 2008-06-17 04:36:27,950 (Logger.java:25) - jre:126.96.36.199-061213-02:03
DEBUG 2008-06-17 04:36:27,951 (Logger.java:25) - java ver:188.8.131.52
From here we can see that jre and Jdk is having the version greater than 1.4.
Is there any difference in the UNIX platform jre and Windows jre ?
