You seem to get a lot of "unnecessary" lectures
and advices about life lately. Did you ever think the
        problem could be you?
Sure, the thought crosses my mind. And then realize
how preposterous such a thought is (particularly
regarding pedantic explanations of basic MA
        philosophy)... ;o)

My state has a philosophy? ;-) (Yes, I know what MA
        really means here.)
I must state my ignorance here. I have no clue on what means MA be it as a state acronym or anything else. Can I have some clarification?

And your state has a train to Wonderland!
          Yep!

Sorry. MA is the abbreviation for Massachusetts. The original post was referring to Martial Arts (a thread from the last few days that got axed).

How's Brazil? My town is full of Brazilians. We have lots of Brazilian restaurants (mmm!) and other businesses. I've never been to Brazil, but my brother has.

Although I heard pizza here in So Paulo is famed as the best of the world, I couldnt say, for I never got the know any other country. I did eat pizza in other states here, though, and really ours is the best. =) (Waiting to get a lot of flaming for that) The proper way to eat pizza is a religious thing here, in some states here people put, YARGH, catchup or maionnese in the pizza(go figuure that!!), and everyone knows that it is not right.

Well, if you get the chance of coming here, drop by for some chatting. I will try my best to impress you with our city. =) Just don't get to scared as my spoken english is worse than my written english.

Direct quote from Sun's doc on deprecated stop
Many uses of stop should be replaced by code that simply modifies some variable to indicate that the target thread should stop running. The target thread should check this variable regularly, and return from its run method in an orderly fashion if the variable indicates that it is to stop running. If the target thread waits for long periods (on a condition variable, for example), the interrupt method should be used to interrupt the wait.

I'm not talking about writing interuption code. Nor did I state a narrowed view of interrupt(). It can be employed but it has nothing to do with "right way"

If you set the 'stop' variable and have your code designed to check it you can simply notify the thread if is waiting or unblock it and the thread's design stops itself gracefully. But again I'm not saying this is the "right way" Programmer's choice.
