automountd daemon.error mount nfsserver Couldn't bind to reserved port
Oct 20, 2010 12:59 AM
I have a Solaris 9 on a Sun-Fire-E2900 that I am having an issue with when automounting via NFS.
The exporting nfs servers are a mixed bunch - HPUX, Netapp's Data ONTAP.
All of them are exhibiting "Couldn't bind to reserved port" on this Solaris 9 client in a high frequency of intermittence..
I am just wondering if there's some known issue on Solaris 9 NFS client with a fix or workaround.
Hoping for enlightenment.

Either set it live by tuning the kernel parameter or set the following parameter in /etc/system
default is 1, by some reason, changing it to 0 solves this issue.
Thanks for looking.
