be warned against trying to install current OBEO in Outlook 2010.
A colleague of mine tried, in Outlook 2010 (32 Bit) on Windows 7, and this is what he experienced:
-installation was possible and did not issue any warning
-the attempt to create a new OBEO based account reported that new mail profiles could only be defined through the control panel (O.K so far).
-he tried to configure an OBEO profile, but it reported that "this
server does not cooperate with you Outlook-Version"
-he gave up and deinstalled OBEO, which also was successful and free
of errors, but then the problems started:
Any attempt to start Outlook resulted in the message box "Outlook could not be started".
The control panes mail-applet reported "insufficient system ressources. Close some programs and retry" - effectively disabling him to administer his mail profiles.
He tried to start Outlook with /safe, /safe:1, /safe:3, /resetnavpane, and an Office repair install, all to no avail. Even reverting to a system restore point created before by Windows 7 did not help: he finally had to erase both
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Beehive
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem
completely to be able to define a new Outlook profile in his windows profile.
Maybe OBEO should refuse installation in absence of a supported Outlook version?
