Refresh region using dynamic action

Machaan
Hi,

I have a page in my application with two different regions. First region has a select list and second region has a report and the report query is using the select list value as a bind variable.

I created a dynamic action to refresh the report region when the select list value is changed.

This works fine and the report is refreshed after value change, but after the report is refreshed the report rows are behaving differently.

When I move the mouse over the rows, the background color is changing and when I move the mouse from the row, it is not changing back to the original color.

Is this a bug?

Thanks,
Machaan

Hi Machaan,

are you able to reproduce that on apex.oracle.com? Can you create an example for use where it reproduces?

Regards
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I was able to reproduce the issue on apex.oracle.com

http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=53461:14

Check this page...

login: test

Can you please provide me your workspace/user/pwd so that I can export your app and install it on our dev box and see if the problem is still reproducible

Thanks
Patrick

Hi Machaan,

Further to your query, please refer to Anthony Ryner's blog: http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/07/report-filtering-with-apex-40-dynamic.html.

I have implemented as per his steps and it worked for me, I have no problem on mouse over or out.

Regards,
Bhavin

Hi Machaan,

good news, the problem does not reproduce anymore on APEX 4.0.2 which will be our next patchset.

Regards
Patrick

Thanks Patrick. Any info on when this patch might be released, a month or two?

Thanks,

Hi Patrick,

This is a problem I'm facing with an application I'm trying on apex.oracle.com.
I have a select list (Select Event) and that select list is the parent for the LOV of another select list (Select User).
Also there is a report region which must refresh when the Event list changes and uses the event list in its region source. I used dynamic actions to implement this.

However it is not working consistently and usually behaves very weird.
For the purpose of testing I created 2 events and the first event has 6 users associated and the second event has 3 users associated.
But when I select the first event in the list nothing happens. And then when I select the second event in the list the report region refreshes and shows me the users associated with the first event. Like it is still reading the previous value of the event select list.

Also this refresh is not consistent. It happens sometimes. Other times nothing happens.

I dont know what am i doing wrong.

Regards,
Arijit

What you're doing wrong is posting follow-ups to ancient threads. Watches on a thread expire after a few weeks. No one involved in a thread from 2010 is notified of your post.

Posting follow-ups to ancient threads/departed users is NOT an effective way of getting help:

Other users may ignore the thread if it is closed

Your assumption that the questions are related may be incorrect, leading to confusion about the nature of the problem and potential solutions

Watches on the thread may have expired, so the original participants may be unaware of the new post, or they may no longer be active on the forum

You have no ability to mark posts as helpful or correct

Post your question as a new thread, including at least the following information:
