We are trying to update the metalink userid / password on a EBS 184.108.40.206 system on Windows 2003 and we are getting the following message:
Unable to connect to Metalink. Please enter a valid Metalink userid and password. Please also check if the Web Proxy Setup information is correct.
We use no proxy and the application server can ping bigip-updates.oracle.com.
The only problem I see is that the server tries to connect to bigip-updates.oracle.com through http (port 80 - found with netstat on the server) and not https, which does not work even from any other PC
Is there any way to instruct our EBS installation to try to connect with https and not http?
For metalink access please be sure your CSI is valid, if its valid try with different browser. If you have some tools like google toolbar, firewall prog. make them off. If you have still issue than please check:

Thank you for your answer, but it seems that my question was not clear.
We do not have problem accessing metalink from a web browser.
Our problem is on a EBS installation. We are trying to enter the metalink credentials so we can run the OAM Patch wizard etc
When we are entering the metalink credentials to the Oralce Applications Manager -> Setup -> Metalink Credentials form and pressing the "Update" button, we are getting the following error: "Unable to connect to Metalink. Please enter a valid Metalink userid and password. Please also check if the Web Proxy Setup information is correct."
What I have found is that our applcation server tries to contact oracle's updates server using http, which - I guess - does not work.
So the question is: Is there something I can do in order to "inform" our EBS Application server to use https when trying to contact oracle's updates server?
