I'm developping a VB 6.0 application with Oracle 9i and 10g as back-end. I need, for specific operations, to
connect as sysdba ("create database" as least). It seems nor ADO nor OO4O allow this type of connection.
What do you suggest me?
You'll need to use an API that has exposed this functionality. ODP.NET is the current API being touted, if enhancements get done they will be done there. It may well already offer this feature as well.
I dont think OO4O supports it, nor the oledb provider, but if you're using ADO with Oracle's ODBC driver you can put it in the password if I recall correctly.. for example:
con.open "dsn=orcl;uid=system;pwd=manager as sysdba"
