Hi,

Can someone please suggest an Open source tool for UML Modeling. It should support multiuser mode and have integration with version control systems.

Thanks in advance.

I have not tried it but you might look at "Poseidon for UML", the Community Edition.

I've used starUML on two projects. It's unclear whether it is still supported, but it's been good enough so far, for me.
No specific CVS integration, but the storage format is text (XML somehow). Textual diff across revisions is not very explicit though.
Projects can be broken into submodules, to enable several people to work in parallel. However two person cannotwork on the same submodule and merge the results.

I've also used Google. A lot.

I use StarUML for Class and activity diagrams. I still did not forward engineer with it, but however worked with reverse engineering. One notable point is that StarUML fails to reverse engineer a Java file if the file has Generics in it.

I feel that StarUML was not upgraded to support new features that came in at compiler level.

In other words, StarUML supports only till JDK 1.4.x

Edit - Lately I've been using it for use case diagrams also.

The fullest implementation of UML 2.0 is Topcased, the eclipse based tool, however, it sometimes is unstable, tends to corrupt the model ... so watch out. Astah (earlier JUDE) community is a very good tool. Beyond those, I do not recommend any.

I quite enjoyed using ArgoUML; particularly it's ability to build maps from existing Java projects. However, I was only using it as a single user so I have no idea of its multi-user capabilities or VC compatibility.
