I think it depends on how your software is written so I don't think anyone can answer this question definitivitly.
It will probably work, Sun and now Oracle works hard to maintain biniary compatibility, but you won't know for 100% sure without testing.
I can validate that I have old software built to run on UltraSparcII E3500's running Solaris 2.6 now running without change on Solaris 10 with T5240's.

.. which will work, but if the only thing you use your 280 for is to compile code on, it might be a good idea to compile the code on the T or M machines instead, then the code might be better optimized for your platform..
Besides, the same binaries have to run on both T and M platforms and they're extremely IO-limited anyway.
