Running jstat too often?

The jstat tool is very useful for us to flag and diagnose memory issues we are seeing on some java applications (some plan sdk app, some in an application server -- weblogic).

The question is what is the cost of running jstat. For example -- if it ran every 10 minutes to poll the information and if there was an issue ran every minute. What would the cost of this be and would it be alright to do this in a production environment?

Thanks.
