....When I run the local IAS ...Do you have Application Server installed as well as Developer Suite?
...but when I start OC4J ...If you have both iAS and iDS installed, you will have problems because the system PATH will point to the last installation that took place.
and installed "Oracle Developer Suite 10g" in "Windows XP mode".What version of ODS 10g (eg; 10.1.2.x.x)? Could you please elaborate on the "Windows XP mode"? Did you just set the "Compatability" option to Windows XP or have you downloaded and installed the "Windows XP Mode" add-on from Microsoft? This could be a contributing factor, but I think the real issue is what Java Runtime you have installed. ODS comes preconfigured to use the Oracle Jinitiator verison 220.127.116.11. If you have installed this version, it is completely not compatible with Internet Explorer 8. You will need to install the Sun (Oracle) JRE 1.6.0_16 or higher.
the application will not start. Can you describe what happens? (IE opens, but displays blank or gray page, etc). Typically, problems running a Form from the Forms Builder is either caused by the absense of a compatible JRE or a misconfigured "formsweb.cfg" to reflect the installed JRE.
and use the following url: http://[IP of Windows virtual PC or hostname]:8888/forms/frmservlet?config=webutilI noticed you are using the Webutil config. Have you completed the necessary configuration steps for WebUtil (jacob.jar, webutil.cfg configuration, etc)?
