To answer your questions...
1. This part of the process from what I've seen is integral to the product working - so the answer is yes
2. Drill through is defined in a number of places one of those is in the "Target Application Registration" within ERPi and there is also a flag within the the adapter.
Oracle have produced some good step by step documentation on this, please check metalink for note ID 951369.1 and this will take you through the process.
Thanks Mark for your reply
The document must be a different version to mine - I can't seem to locate these metadata rules.
What do I need FDM for? Must I load the data into FDM first? I thought I could just use ERPi adaptor and ODI.
You do NOT need to load metadata via ERPi in order to drill through. Only data needs to be loaded.1 person found this helpful
The drill through configuration is part of the installation & configuration process.
I would review the install documents available here:
Thanks for the clarification.
It's just that we've had issues with the MetaData refresh which impacted the data integration that also builds the drill through regions.
Let me clarify, you need to run the metadata rule in ERPi but you do not need to load the metadata to the EPM application. I think a lot of confusion exists around that point.
